High School Programs Chair
The High School Programs Chair position is responsible for overseeing our each of our high school programs throughout the year. They work hand in hand with each school and executive board to put on their own marathon and engage in different campaigns throughout the year including recruitment and fundraising pushes. This position leads weekly meetings with each school and is in constant communication with the students. The High School Chair position is a part of the Finance Team.
The Partnerships Chair position is responsible for securing external partners to work with OwlThon. They must be professional and able to go into business to offer our different partnership opportunities. This position handles both in kind and monetary partners. The Partnerships Chair position is a part of the Finance Team.
The Fundraising Chair position must find creative ways to encourage fundraising year round. They create templates and tools to help people with fundraising and strategize with the finance team. They also help to brainstorm and create innovative campaigns throughout the year. This position is also responsible for planning community events and givebacks, such as our Kendra Scott or Uptown Art givebacks. The Fundraising Chair position is a part of the Finance Team.
The Finance Chair position works very closely with the Finance Director and is responsible for helping to track finances year around. This position helps find innovative ways to fundraise and encourage participation from the external community. They must also help to analyze data in order to engage in effective data-based decision making based on past and current data. The Finance Chair position is a part of the Finance Team.
The Recruitment Chair position is responsible for recruiting returning and new organizations to participate in OwlThon. They are the initial contact for a new organization wishing to participate in OwlThon. They must be comfortable speaking to anyone interested in OwlThon and giving presentations about our organization and how to get involved. They are also very involved with tabling on the Breezeway or at campus events. The Recruitment Chair position is a part of the Dancer Relations Team.
The Membership Chair position works very closely with the delegates of each organization that participates in OwlThon. They must hold weekly meetings with delegates and serve as the main link between the internal team and external community. This position relays any important information to delegates and helps them find ways to engage their organizations. The Membership Chair position is a part of the Dancer Relations Team.
External Events Chair
The External Events Chair position is responsible for planning and executing any on campus events for FAU students to participate in. They play a large role in planning key events throughout the year such as Registration Week and Be Bold Push Day, as well as tabling and any other events. They must be innovative and bring new ideas for potential events that OwlThon can put on for our participants throughout the year. The External Events Chair position is a part of the Dancer Relations Team.
University Relations Chair
The University Relations Chair position is the main form of contact between OwlThon and FAU. They must communicate in a professional manner with different university officials and departments as well as fill out requests through Owl Central for any events or supplies needed. They are also responsible for our Alumni program and are the contact person for any alumni wishing to become involved. The University Relations Chair position is a part of the Dancer Relations Team.
The Morale Chair position is responsible for bringing the excitement, or morale, to our organization! They oversee all of our morale captains and ensure they are engaged year round by holding weekly meetings with all of their captains. This position is also responsible for creating the music and choreography for our line dance that is taught at the main event. The Morale Chair position is a part of the Dancer Relations Team.
Family Relations Chair
The Family Relations Chair position is the connection between our organization and each of our amazing miracle families. With our families living so far away, the Family Relations Chair must be in touch with them about upcoming events and campaigns that OwlThon has going on as well as receiving videos and pictures for our participants. They must also find innovative ways to bring cause connection to our campus even though we are so many hours away from our hospital and kids. The Family Relations Chair position is a part of the Marathon Team.
The Operations Chair position is responsible for the OwlThon storage unit and for any items that are needed throughout the year. They monitor and provide other chairs with whatever they might need at any events, tabling, or givebacks. In addition, they are also responsible for the blueprinting and layout of the marathon and must work very closely with the Entertainment Chair in the planning of the marathon. This position must also communicate professionally with external companies and FAU departments that help to provide equipment for the marathon. The Operations Chair position is a part of the Marathon Team.
The Hospitality Chair position is responsible for all things food. They plan any givebacks held with local restaurants throughout the year as well as find in kind food donations for events or retreats. This position is also responsible for acquiring all of the in kind food for the marathon and scheduling all dancer meal shifts during the day. They must be able to work professionally with external businesses whether they are asking for a partnerships for a giveback or for in kind food donations. The Hospitality Chair position is a part of the Marathon Team.
The Entertainment Chair position is responsible for the entertainment at the marathon. They must commincate with outside businesses and vendors to coordinate the different experiences that dancers can partake in. They are also responsible for creating the timeline, theme hours, and games that can be found at the marathon. This position focuses on dancer experience at the marathon. The Entertainment Chair position is a part of the Marathon Team.
Creative Development Chair
The Creative Development Chair position is responsible for creating all of the graphics and flyers for OwlThon. They must work closely with the Public Relations Chair in determining what graphics are needed and in what format for posting. They also are responsible for ensuring the OwlThon brand is consistent throughout our marketing and promotion. The Creative Development Chair position is a part of the Communications Team.
The Technology Chair position is responsible for all videos that OwlThon creates. They must take both videos and photos throughout the year at any events, and is then responsible for using that footage to create innovative videos for our program. They are also responsible for updating the OwlThon website throughout the entire year. The Technology Chair position is a part of the Communications Team.
The Merchandise Chair position is responsible for designing all products sold by OwlThon to the community. They must keep an accurate inventory of any merchandise that we have as well as track all sales year round. This position must find innovative ways to spread the word about new and exclusive merchandise. They must also communicate professionally with external companies that create any customized products. The Merchandise Chair position is a part of the Communications Team.
Public Relations Chair
The Public Relations Chair position is responsible for all of OwlThon’s social media accounts. They write all of our captions and plan out posts throughout the year. This position plays a role in creating any social media campaigns and finding ways to engage our external community more through social media. They are also responsible for expanding OwlThon’s reach in the FAU and Boca communities. The Public Relations Chair position is a part of the Communications Team.
